Name: The Lone Wanderer (No canon name given. Goes by Angel)
Canon: Fallout 3
Canon Point: 4 years after the end of the game.
Age: 23

Backstory: The Story of Fallout 3
Personality: Angel is an overall "good karma" character. She enjoys helping people out with things, but will not take on jobs that are out right murder. She'll help gather supplies, fix things or find people, but she's no hitman. While she enjoys helping people, she is a smartass, making snarky remarks about things and people she's working with. Her mouth has gotten her into more trouble than anything else she has done. She knows that her remarks will cause her problems, yet she still can't seem to understand when to keep her mouth shut. While snarky, most people realize that she's there to help and not hinder. She doesn't discriminate between normal humans, ghouls, and super mutants when it comes to lending a hand. People are people to her, no matter the state of their skin or if they've been affected by the forced evolutionary virus.

Angel has an extreme fear of large creatures called Deathclaws. They're about 8 feet or more tall, with huge claws that can easily rend flesh from bone. They're very aggressive and fast. She was nearly killed by one when she was first kicked out of Vault 101, and it has left her with nightmares. She also gets nightmares about the death of her father as well.

Due to living most of her life in an underground Vault, Angel is still kind of naïve. She learned a lot very quickly, but there are a few things that she doesn't really understand. She's never really been in a romantic relationship. Sure, she's had several companions with her as she wanders the wasteland, but she's never actually had someone that close to her. She's been so focused on surviving that it never really occurred to her. She's not against a relationship from forming, but so far in her life she hasn't had any romantic relationships. Speaking of relationships, due to her father having lied to her most of her life, Angel has some trust issues. She doesn't easily trust most people and keeps them at a distance for some time. Its also hard to trust people out in the Wasteland, as you never really know who's going to turn out to try to kill you. She tends to keep people at a distance.

Because of her time spent in the vault along with most settlements being rather small in the Wasteland, Angel isn't used to being around large groups of people. She's going to have to take a lot of time to adjust to being around a lot of people.

Powers/Abilities: Because there are so many different abilities or "Perks" in Fallout games, I am limiting Angel to having just a few. She will have the swift learner perk, making her learn things just a bit faster, and silent running, which makes her quieter when running while trying to be sneaky. There are also a lot of different skills in Fallout 3, so I am limiting Angel to Lockpicking, Melee weapons, and sneak, making it easier for her to be sneaky, pick locks and fight with other weapons besides guns. While she might be good with guns, she probably won't have access to a lot of them here and ammo will be limited.
Inventory: Besides the clothes on her back (a pair of jeans, a long sleeve button up, a leather duster with the sleeves torn off) ahe has her Pip-Boy on her left forearm. She hardly ever takes it off, even to sleep. She has a few bottle caps in her pockets along with a StimPak. She carries a 10mm pistol on her thigh and a sniper rifle on her back.
Game Plans: I want Angel to make new friends and find out more about worlds where nuclear bombs didn't fall. I also want her to explore things and face the consequences. Be they positive or negative.
Monster Choice: Zoanthrope - Werewolf
Volare - Gargoyle
Fae - Fairy
Vehicle Choice: Converted Ford F5 Truck that's tough.

Chosen faction: Sylph
Suitability: While Angel is from Fallout 3, she can easily adapt to a world without technology. A lot of the tech that she has any sort of access to isn't really working all that well. She can hack computers and she's got her PipBoy, but she's not exactly dependent on them. Well maybe her PipBoy, but she can get used to it not working. She loves to help people out and explore. While she might not be used to big cities, she can adapt and grow.

Canon: Fallout 3

Canon Point: 4 years post canon

Abilities

Character Abilities: Because there are so many different abilities or "Perks" in Fallout games, I am limiting Angel to having just a few. Angel has the gun nut and swift learner perks. These two perks help her out in the Wasteland. Being a Gun Nut helps her skills in the use and repair of regular guns. With everything that wants to kill a person in the Wasteland, being able to use and repair guns is essential. Because she lived a bit of a sheltered life in Vault 101, the Lone Wanderer needs to learn about things quickly on her feet. There's no one in the Wasteland that's going to hold her hand and explain how things work. She's got to figure it out on her own and quickly if she wants to survive. She also has the Scrounger perk, making it easier to find things, usually ammunition.
Character Skills: Again, because there are so may different skills in Fallout, I'm limiting her to these skills: small guns, lockpick, and repair skills. This means that she's good with regular guns, such as rifles and pistols. Her aim is good and she knows how to use the weapons in her hands. She's also good at picking locks. Give her a screwdriver and bobby pin and she can open almost any lock. And she's also good at fixing things. Guns, armor, other things that need to be fixed and she can pretty much do it.

Approach

[Please answer all questions in one to two sentences minimum, one paragraph maximum. Note: This section is to get players thinking about what they will be doing with their characters in the world and is basically a light suitability screening.]

What interests you most about playing this character in this game?

I love seeing how Angel can adapt to what is going on around her. She is from a world were everything is destroyed and everything and everyone wants to kill her. She's not used to being around so many people. I also enjoy seeing how she reacts to all of the different people that have also been brought here. And shocking them a bit when they learn about her destroyed home.
How do you see your character adjusting to/approaching the game world?

She's going to be in awe of everything for a long time. She's also going to be a bit more reserved as she isn't used to being around so many people. All of the settlements that she's been to combined are smaller than the city that she has access to right now. It'll be a bit overwhelming, but she'll adapt.

What do you see your character finding most interesting about the setting/game premise?

The level of technology will catch her attention first. Its so much more advanced than what she is used to seeing. Her Pip-Boy doesn't even compare to what she sees around her. She won't understand magic at the start, but she'll eventually get the basics. She'll focus on tech mostly because it's what she understands.

Samples

(please provide samples from the last six months with at least 10-15 sentences of writing; a TDM entry with both is fine)

Log-style Sample: TDM
Net-style Sample:

[There's a bit of humming for a moment before she finally figures out the final settings to get her Pip-Boy to be able to send messages with the network. Her voice sounds like an old radio announcer.]

Hello? Can anyone hear me? I think I was able to get this connected to the network here. I'm kind of surprised, since the level of tech is so different. The Brotherhood would have a heart attack with how advanced things are here.

I've never seen a city like this. It's so big. I think that all of the settlements back in the Wasteland combined wouldn't be nearly as big as this place. It's amazing. And none of it's destroyed or irradiated. I don't think that the bombs ever dropped in this place. At least, not like in my world.

Anything else?

Angel does have a dog, known as Dogmeat. I don't have her with him on the TDM, but if she could find him after arrival that would be amazing.

People are people to her, no matter the state of their skin or if they've been affected by the forced evolutionary virus.

Due to a nomadic life in the Wasteland, Angel has had many run ins with the mutated wildlife that has appeared in the 200 years since the bombs dropped. While most of the creatures don't bother her at all, Angel does have an extreme fear of deathclaws, having nearly died to one shortly after being forced out of Vault 101. A year later and she still has both the physical and mental scars from that attack. When she notices the signs of deathclaws being around she tends to get very quick to anger and does what she can to try and get out of the area. If faced with an actual deathclaw, she will freeze up and need to be shaken out of her fear. Freezing up like that could get a person killed very quickly in the wasteland, so she does what she can to avoid deathclaws at all costs. She also occasionally has night terrors about that day and does what she can to ignore the trauma that she's gone through. She needs to survive and dwelling on her mistakes would just end up with her dead.

Its also hard to trust people out in the Wasteland, as you never really know who's going to turn out to try to kill you. She may appear to trust others, but she's still holding them at arm's length.

Despite her age, she's still a bit child-like wonder since she doesn't know a lot about the outside world. Whatever she learned while in Vault 101 had to be unlearned and quick once she was booted out. The Wasteland is a harsh place and she really doesn't have a whole lot of social skills. She's got enough to make sure she can interact with others, but she's not really subtle about anything. She's pretty direct and to the point most of the time and she's trying to learn some tact. She just hasn't really caught onto it. She's also rather protective of the few people that she calls her friends. She'll do almost anything for someone if they've gained her trust.
Appearance: A dirty Wastelander
How Do You Think They'll React to Being In Parthas? She will be quite shocked as she's used to seeing a crumbling wasteland. She likes helping people out so she'll do what she can to help out. Having sex to do so will be a bit awkward for her at the start, but she'll get used to it.
Sample(s)? TDM with a few threads
Anything Else? While mostly human, Angel does have a lot of skills and perks that she's picked up during her time in the Wasteland. For the sake of this game, she's going to have the Sneak, Repair, and lockpick skills as well as the Swift Learner, Silent Running, and Scrounger perks. Basically her skills allow her to be more sneaky, allow her to fix things up easier, and pick locks a bit better than normal. As for her perks, Swift Learner will let her to pick up on things a bit easier, run quieter when she needs to be quick while being sneaky, and scrounge up more useful things when digging around for things. As for what items she has on her, she has her Pip-Boy on her left forearm, the clothes on her back, a 10 mm pistol, a semi-automatic shotgun, and a sniper rifle, along with some extra ammunition for all of them. Just a few magazines, so her supply is limited.

What did they do to end up here?: Murder, breaking and entering, theft, and resisting arrest. Pretty much everything that she considers a part of her normal every day survival. She has to kill others so they don't kill her and she often steals from various places to get stuff to sell so that she can eat and buy supplies. Name: Angel (AKA The Lone Wanderer)
Canon: Fallout 3
Age: 22
Appearance:One Lone Wanderer
Canon Point: Post Canon
Background: Fallout 3 wiki
CRAU: N/A

Personality: Helpful- Angel likes to help people out, doing a lot of odd jobs around the wasteland for people. She'll do any number of tasks, as long as it isn't out right murder. She'll kill to defend herself, but she's not an assassin. She also doesn't do things for free. While she likes to help out, she has to be able to buy supplies just like anyone else in the Wasteland. (Overall she's got "Good Karma" and enjoys helping people out, even if she's a smartass at times)

Survivor- Like most people in the Wastelands, Angel is a survivor. The world's pretty much gone to hell in a hand basket and there's monsters and radiation everywhere. Just about everything out in what was once the United States Capital wants to kill you in some way and those who can't figure out how to survive end up dead. She knows how to use guns and knives as well as just who and what to stay away from. There are places where the environment can kill you rather quickly. And Deathclaws are hard as fuck to kill.

Quick Learner- One has to learn on their feet while in the Wasteland. There's only so much you can learn when you're stuck underground in a vault with the same people for decades. Vault-Tec had programs to teach people the basics of living in a vault, but not how to survive after leaving the vault. It doesn't hurt that Vault-Tec was doing a lot of shady experiments with the vaults. She had to learn many things rather quickly or she wouldn't be able to survive.

Weaknesses/Temptations: Greedy - While Angel likes helping people out, she does it for a price. She'll do almost anything for caps, since she needs them to survive. She won't murder for money, but she'll do just about anything else from theft to gathering items in dangerous places and other such things. She has yet to sell her body for money though.

Naive - Despite being out of the Vault for a few years now, Angel still doesn't know a lot about being with other people. She prefers the company of one or two others, but that's about it. While outgoing and willing to help others, she's still learning how to be out in the world. She spent so much of her life living with the same people and it takes more than a few years to adjust to that.

Smartass - Angel is a smartass and her mouth has gotten her into trouble before. She often doesn't think before speaking and has pretty much no filters between her brain and her mouth. She'll say what's on her mind and deal with the consequences as they come.

Sins: Murder - While most of her killing is done in self defence, there have been a couple of times where Angel has murdered raiders that were causing a lot of problems for other people. She's not exactly proud of it, but she didn't do it for money. She did it to save others from being kidnapped, killed, or extorted.

Stealing - Just another way she had to survive in thee wasteland. Sometimes you just need to take what you need to survive.

Lying - Angel has lied to others about where she's from or to get into areas that she's not supposed to be into.

Patricide - While she didn't kill her own father, she believes that she should have been able to do more against the Enclave when they invaded the Jefferson Memorial to take control of Project Purity. She still believes that she had a hand in killing her father.

Powers/Abilities: In game, the Lone Wanderer can have a large variety of skills and perks. For the sake of the game, she will focus on the small guns, lockpick, and repair skills.

She also has the gun nut and swift learner perks.

Due to living most of her life in an underground Vault, Angel is still kind of naive. She may appear to trust others, but she's still holding them at arm's length.

Despite her age, she's still a bit child-like wonder since she doesn't know a lot about the outside world. Whatever she learned while in Vault 101 had to be unlearend and quick once she was booted out.

Suitability: Angel's going to be very confused about everything that is going on when she first arrives. The GemSci researchers remind her a lot about the people who ran VaultTec that she read about on the different termainals she found around the wasteland and the government reminds her too much of the Enclave, but she doesn't think that she has much of a choice and she wants to help people out, so she agrees to do what she can. She knows that the researchers and government aren't like the ones that she has back home, but she's still kind of leary. She doens't have very good examples to base her assumptions off of, so she's willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

She doesn't understand much about the gembonds or Manna, since there's nothing like that where she came from. She's also like a kid and is very interested in the technology that is here. She'll be confused about her own powers with her gembond, but will take the time to get used to them. As for transformations, she's used to seeing them out in the Wasteland. Ghouls and Super Mutants both used to be human and while still kind of human-like, are very different from them.

Condition upon arrival: Alive and slightly irradiated, but in good condition.

Abilities: In game, the Lone Wanderer can have a large variety of skills and perks. For the sake of the game, she will focus on the small guns, lockpick, and repair skills.

She also has the gun nut and swift learner perks.

While snarky, most people realize that she's there to help and not hinder. She doesn't discriminate between normal humans, ghouls, and super mutants to help.

She's not against a relationship from forming, but so far in her life she hasn't had any romantic relationships. She knows that it will happen eventually, but hasn't been actively searching for someone. Speaking of relationships, due to her father having lied to her most of her life, Angel has some trust issues. She doesn't easily trust most people and keeps them at a distance for some time before she fully trusts them. Its also hard to trust people out in the Wasteland, as you never really know who's going to turn out to be a raider.

Reactions to Lovewater: Angel will be fascinated by the simple fact that Lovewater isn't irradiated. After things are explained to her in better detail, she's going to take some time to adjust. While she wants to help people, she's never really been in a romantic relationship before. She also has some trust issues, but is working through them. She'll take some time to adjust and start to roll with things.

History: The Story of the Lone Wanderer. Angel comes post game, having been through a lot to get clean water for the Wasteland. After starting Project Purity, Angel continues to wander the Wasteland, helping people out when she can and just doing what she can to survive.

Sample 1: So, this is how people communicate here? I’ve never seen a device like this before. I wonder if I can connect it to my Pip-Boy. Also, this little card is how we’re supposed to pay for things? It looks so easy to lose. I guess caps are easy to steal as well. I'm sure the Brotherhood would love to get their hands on something like this.

[Either the girl making this post is totally nuts, or she’s just not used to advanced tech. She’s kind of just rambling more to herself than to anyone else. ]

So this is what the world looked like before the bombs dropped. It's interesting to see how the world can be without nuclear bombs dropping. Won't have to worry about Deathclaws, super mutants or raiders here. It's a damn paradise here. I don't mind trying to help keep things peaceful here. Hell, it's probably one of the easiest jobs I've ever taken.

[It's then that she realizes that she's been broadcasting her rambling this entire time. There's the sound of mild cursing and fumbling. She's walking and talking at the same time. A dangerous combination.]

Shit. This was on. Uh...hi. I'm not used to tech like this. I'm Angel. Like you guys I'm here to lend a hand. I'm not sure about you guys, but this place is a lot better than where I came from. Guess I'll see you around.

Sample 2: Angel stood out in the sunlight and just stared. So this is what the world looked like without the bombs dropping. She had never seen buildings like this before. Sure, there were some buildings still standing in the Capitol Wasteland, but they were just shells. There was nothing inside and most looked like they could topple over at any time. She was in awe of everything around her.

She was shaken from her thoughts as she realized that she was standing slack-jawed in the middle of a walkway. She also stood out like a sore thumb. She was a disaster. Her armored vault suit was covered with dirt, blood, and possibly other things. Her hair was a matted mess, sticking to her head and all of her visible skin was covered in mud and other things she would rather not think about. She needed to find out where she was staying and get cleaned up. And quickly.

Several hours and a lot of hot water later the former Vault Dweller looked almost normal. It had taken her ages to get the dirt off of her skin and get her hair to look somewhat controlled. The shower felt amazing and she really didn't want it to end, but she needed to go and explore her new home. She was practically buzzing with excitement as she adjusted her Pip-Boy, double checked her pockets and then headed back out.
